Endless Echoes
Endless Echoes is an atmospheric hack-and-slash, set to a haunting original soundtrack. Once a legendary hero, you now face your darkest foe...yourself.
Wield a cursed sword that slowly saps your life with every passing moment. Hunt down Soul Fragments to restore your strength. Recover 13 Soul Fragments to break the cycle and claim victory.
Feed the blade.

GMTK Game Jam 2025
Theme: Loop
The game centers on a game mechanic and narrative loop. You are trapped in a cycle of resurrection, where each death creates a new version of yourself that becomes an enemy. The map structure, enemy behavior, and progression all work towards the theme.
Devlog
This is my first game jam as a dev and first time with Unity. Unfortunately, Unity BSoD and corrupted my scene with about a day still left in the jam. With that being said, I'm pretty happy with the results. It's a good vibe and I learned A LOT.
Day 1, 7/30/2025 - Game and narrative ideation and core mechanics.
Day 2, 7/31/2025 - Itch page setup, graphic assets, added some fog, and wrestled with Unity's compiler for web for about...5 hours :(
Day 3, 8/1/2025 - Health and spawning mechanics, souls, points, win condition, SFX, feedback spice, music.
Day 4, 8/2/2025 - Environment, finalize music, UI, menu, minor balancing, and then Unity crashed and corrupted my scene at 10:58AM.
Day 5, 8/3/2025 - Things I didn't get to: replacing the models and animations, balancing, and giving the fun factor more love to match the atmosphere. I intended to write in a proper story with some dialogue as well.

It looks ok so far - but like stated at the beginning of loading . . . it’s barely playable for me! And that’s on my windows laptop which runs most stuff fine. So you could probably do a bit of improvement on FPS - other than that looks great at this stage!
Thanks for letting me know! What browser are you on?
I’m on edge on windows. (Sorry for the late reply.)
Unfortunately it’s still really laggy and basically unplayable for me.
It’s better than my entry by a long shot - I didn’t have time to do one! But really, it looks quite fun if only my computer could handle it - good luck!
Unity ended up crashing and corrupting my files so that’s it for me :( That’s for checking it out and letting me know though!
Oh no! That’s horrible . . .
Well, maybe next year will be better - but good luck on whatever other projects you have in store for us!
The concept's interesting, and I like the minimalistic aesthetics you accomplished. Looking forward to seeing the final result!
Good luck :)
Thanks for checking it out!
